Lila, a chef-owned restaurant by someone who truly cares where he sources his food, is a must when in Sarasota. There is a list of farms written on the huge blackboard hung on the wall to your left as you walk in and all of them have confirmed he is a repeat and dependable customer. He will even bring out the egg carton to show you where this week’s eggs have come from, if you ask. Personally, I think the poached egg is the best I have ever had. The creative menu of items are all made from scratch, changes often, and is based on what is available from local farms. However, bone broth seems to be a consistent option on the menu. Sweet potato fries made with coconut oil is another favorite of mine and I was assured that no vegetable oils are used to cook the food. If Kombucha appeals to you, they offer a few flavors from you to choose from. You can’t go wrong with Lila as I feel there are always options on the menu for WAPF diners and all of it is created with love.
